This year around 22,000 students filled up the application for UPES University of Petroleum and Energy Studies entrance examination and hence waiting for the result to be announced. Students are also searching for UPES placement record that which field can give better placement from the campus only. There are around 240 seats related to petroleum and gas studies and these seats are really very important as these field provides better placement. Answer key of UPES exam will be announced soon. Well, placement record is one of the most important thing to make a university good.
Recently I came to know that 70 marks is the minimum marks required for the selection in this university. If you will score around 70 or more then there will be some chances of admission to this university. Question paper was of 200 marks and getting 70 marks is not a big deal as there was no negative marking but getting 70 is not much easier also. All this cutoff rank/marks depends upon number of students participated in this exam as well as highest marks scored by the student.

1st two branches are not possible at this rank. 3rd branch is new and may be you will get it in W/L. CSE-Oil and Gas informatics, Geo Science Engineering and Geo Informatics have a good scope in future because in world's top 60 companies in terms of generating revenue, 40+ companies are related to Oil and Gas Industries only. So, scope is good.

ReplyDeleteGetting admission on merit basis is different criteria. As you have applied for entrance exam then you are not eligible or merit basis qualification. Moreover there are some chances that you will get ADE at W/L and domicile will help you only in the reduction of fees only.

DeleteMy councelling was on 24 at that time gas stream was full even in waiting list ,in upstream their was waiting list of 89.in geoscience their was 20 seats left and in geo informatics 44 seats was their.Ade 10 seats were left.,ccvt was in waiting and rest all the branches has majority of seats still left.
